Kosia City

"They call it a city, but in reality there are no words for the scope of Kosia City. It stretches for hundreds of miles, occupying half of the entire skyland. Ancient stone walls run the perimeter, reinforced and rebuilt over thousands of years. The capitol building by itself is larger than many smaller skylands, and to travel across the city on foot would take months, if not years. The genius tinkerers of the Kosians have constructed train systems, which travel along metal tracks stretching all through the city, that travel at a pace of 200 miles an hour; or so they claim. I think it would be impossible to tell without magic, which they refuse to even acknowledge! Government

The Kosians are a Republic, and operate as a democracy. A senate of elected officials makes nearly every decision for the government.

Defences

Kosia city is surrounded by a massive wall, measuring a mile high, and a quarter mile thick. It has been rebuilt and reinforced over hundreds of years, and is lined with huge watchtowers, each equipped with ship-buster cannons, gatling guns, and ship-ripper ballistae. There are two gates built within the walls, the gatehouses as well protected as the watchtowers.

Industry & Trade

Besides The United Empire, the Kosians are the biggest proprietors of trade and industry among the skylands. They manufacture and produce technology rivaled by none, as well as beautiful textiles and art.

Infrastructure

White-stone or Marble is used in nearly every construction project, along with heavily processed, and very strong, steel. Marvels of technology, powered by coal, steam, and in some cases, electricity, are found all over the city. Bullet trains, "horseless carriages", and "mechanical horses" are some of the prevalent forms of travel for Kosian citizens.

Architecture

Large streets of alabaster pavestone are rimmed by expanded sidewalks, made from a crushed stone material called concrete. Gas powered lamps line these streets, providing light in the night. The buildings are made from white concrete, with Corinthian style columns and arches that hold slate tiled roofs.
