Fatemakers Session Seven: Pirates, Bear Kings and Journals; oh my!

General Summary

With Trange-sur-Lorre defended, and the forces of the Bear King having retreated, our Fatemakers (sans Kellan Highwind and Evan McDermitt) set out to the Bear King's glade to recover the journal. Jostocles and his awakened forces join them, though by the time they reach the glade the majority of the awakened had reverted back to their original states. All that remained was Jostocles, Arviel, and Kaffl. The six of them fought the remaining body guards of the Bear King, and in turn dueled him. It was a vicious match, with Kaffl being left permanently crippled and Volundr Marem going down for the count. After the Bear King's defeat, the journal lay on the ground beside him. His blood was sucked into the journal with dark, unfamiliar magic, and a form was projected, issuing a warning to all the peoples of the skylands. This form claimed to be one called "Epitaph" and he claimed to be coming to take the skylands for his own sinister purposes. Meanwhile, back in Feveno, Kellan took care of his personal life so that he might journey on with the Fatemakers. During this time, Vaultin Chapman, as a reward for this quest he sent them on, found and purchased for them a ship, called The Raven's Fortune. He was also informed by The rest of the party journeyed back towards Feveno, with Jostocles, Kaffl, and Arviel. Jostocles and Kaffl reverted silently, in the night. It was during a touching moment with Arviel, where he recounted the adventures he'd been on with the party, that he too eventually returned to his original form. When the party got back, they joined Kellan and Evan aboard their new ship, and set off for adventure!
