First and second gen Glocks were relatively similar in design, though second gen models had additional checkering in the grips for more comfort and grip while shooting. Third gen models added a accessory rail to the frame, allowing for easy installation of attachments. Fourth gen models had improved grips to further increase comfort while shooting. Finally there were the fifth gen models, which had improved rifling in the barrels and additional serrations in the slide for better grip and tactile sensation.
