Colt Official Police
Before law enforcement began relying mainly on semi-automatic sidearms, American cops would carry these. Introduced in 1907 as a replacement to the outdated .32 caliber revolvers carried by police, the Official Police was considered sleek and modern at the time. Chambered in .38 Special, this double-action revolver was considered more than adequate by its users. From its inception in the early 1900's to it's eventual retirement in 1969, the Official Police was considered by many as either a symbol of justice or tyranny, depending on the cop.
