Run 3: Dark Angel
General Summary
The group was hired to look into the death of a musician named Dark Angel on behalf of his "associate," a Johnson named Lili. After looking into the death, a few details seemed to contradict each other, including details involving the body, the rights to his music which he pointedly never recorded, and the constant pressence of men in fashionable suits. After asking around, and drawing connections between a few different dots, the group decided to confront Dynamic, the owner of Xanadu Studios and the owner of the rights to Angel's music. While there, the team was attacked by a team of Yakuza hitmen, who were defeated, allowing the team to escape with Dynamic in tow.
After retrieving her from Xanadu Studios, the group interrogated Dynamic. Although she didn't have a whole lot of direct information, she was associated with Angel's brother, Edward Crull. The team went to speak with Crull, and inadvertently ended up meeting with his wife, Sarah Crull, a joy of a person and Candy Crush champion. She spilled the fact that Angel was being kept on a ship owned by Yakuza boss Kat Akmura. After a brief but tense confrontation with Edward himself, the team met with the Johnson, handed in the information they have and were paid for their efforts. To close the run, they met with Akmura, as well as Jinjiro, Akmura's senior. They made a deal with the two to clear their name with the Yakuza in exchange for a future favor for Akmura.
Notes from H:
A solid enough run, messy as it could have been. Running up against the Yakuza can be dangerous, and I'm glad you lot made it out alive.
One thing to note, your Johnson approached me again after you guys turned the job in, looking for another group. Something about an assault. Sounded a bit sketchy, so I passed on it, but something to consider.
Rewards Granted
~14k nuyen and 4 karma

Big Stories in the News:
Fireworks in Puget Sound: Seattle Residents were awoken late in the night on the 16th due to a disturbance in the Seattle Bay. A ship, referred to in official records as the Shio-Zuchi, was noted in the harbor for a couple weeks prior, although there has been no record of who owns the ship. Around eleven at night the ship was attacked by a small group of individuals whose goals are unknown. A firefight broke out aboard the ship, during which the ship sustained heavy damage. By midnight the ship succumbed to the damage, sinking into the Puget Sound. No survivors have been found, although efforts to dredge up the remains have been delayed by weather.
Mercurial Goes Dark: Famed musician Mercurial cancelled a major show this week, citing issues with her manager. Following the success of her recent album, abysskiss, Mercurial went on tour across the UCAS, a tour which was meant to culminate in Seattle's own convention center. Fans are disappointed in Mercurial's absence, but hope that any issues with her manager can be resolved quickly and in her favor.
Steele Prepares for Tense Campaign: Although the next presidential election is still two years away, President Thomas Steele has been campaigning across the UCAS territories. Although he is the incumbent president, giving him a distinct advantage in the upcoming election, he's sported incredibly low approval ratings throughout his tenure in office. Steele still seems confident that he will retain the office for another term, despite recent rumors that heavy-hitting political will also be running, including Arthur Vogel and Kenneth Brackhaven, both long-time influences on the UCAS political sphere.
