Chagner
The Capital of Endurae
As the capital of Endurae, Chagner is one of the most important cities in the Sister Lands. The other cities of Endurae often look on Chagner as a center for trading goods, and often goods go through Chagner before they go to other cities.
History
Chagner was founded by Grelo, the grandson of Endur. He led an expedition to the western part of Endurae. He found that the surrounding countryside was pleasant and founded a village. The village grew and grew and, in 871, it was named the capital of Endurae. It was named the capital because it is far away from the waterways that connect Endurae to Elveronea and Elingam. With the war between the other two Sister Lands, Endurae felt a little threatened, so they set up capital far away.
Architecture
The castle and houses of Chagner are built of light tan stone, and the roofs of the houses are usually gray. Grelo drew up a plan for Chagner, foreseeing that it would become the capital of Endurae, and the plan was followed. It included light tan buildings with gray roofs.
Geography
Chagner is by the sea and has a great harbor. The sea water is not fresh, however, and there are great wells underneath the citadel. Outlying houses can be seen outside the city walls in all directions but to the west, as the sea sits there. Chagner has prime views for seeing oncoming enemies.
Natural Resources
Chagner is near the Eleventh wood, and meat is obtained from there. Grain and vegetables are shipped from Reen Village and Terel. Water is obtained from the well. Wood can be obtained from the Eleventh mountain, though trees are grown on the southmost Fishing Island and shipped to Endurae every six months.
