Yor - Of Revenge and Spite

'Ao'Ao 'Elua

A Short History of Yor

Who can deny that revenge and spite are great motivators to achieve unknown heights? Inventors trying to outdo each other, Kings taking their armies across borders to avenge a meaningless death, a dectective tracking down a killer who killed their family. Throughout history people have been driven by the desire to outdo their enemies. In small doses this can enable great advancements, the inventors finding ways to improve everybodies life, the King freeing a subjugated people, the detective locking up a dangerous criminal. Overdo it though and suffer the consequences, inventions escalating into horrible machinery of war, the King slaughtering innocent civilians because they have ressources his army needs, the detective attacking bystanders because they need someone to be at fault when they cannot find the killer. Yor does not care for motives.

Those that worship ? in an organized manner can be divided into two rough groups. Those that follow the law and control their emotion. For those people it is paramount to control their emotion and not let them cloud their vision, they use revenge as a driving factor without being consumed by it. You will find the holy avengers among them, sworn to protect, sworn to brave anything nature might throw against them and live, thrive and prosper after all.
Others have given oin to the rage that may come. Receiving a gift, supernatural strength, agility or even intelligence with the express order to use these newfound abilities to take their revenge, being consumed by it, it becomes the only thing they can ever focus on. Background

Yor is among the ancient gods, too far removed from mortals to care about the concept of morality - although they never really cared before either. One of the few, that still manages to hold onto their sanity. Incredibly bored by divinity and deeply scared of what the Darkness may bring. They spend their time by observing mortals and treating them like a theater play put on for their convenience, interferring sometimes to see what interesting things may happen.
