Eternal Dancers

A Short History of the Eternal Dancers

We mortals often take on a too simplistic view of the world. Life is good and death is bad, to be avoided at all costs. Is it as easy as that? Life unmitigated by death would quickly overwhelm everything and everyone. So a twin force is needed for that one. Death unmitigated however, would result in a barren wasteland. Both in concert, in an eternal dance is what we have, it is what we need. For each life given, there will be a life taken.
As soon as life is conceived, it starts to wither and rot, leading to nothing but death, but from this death growth erupts, wisdom gained, food created and so forth.
For all the time we have known, these primal forces have perfomed their delicate dance for each other. Stories of old whisper however, that they were once mortal. A thought that is impossible, for as forces that old cannot be held by an ascended one.

Worship

Do primal power such as these even need worship? We worry not for that question, as we pray regardless of what we think. Every birth, every death, everything we can ever do will be just another step in their intricate routine and plays into their grand design.

Worshippers

It is often assumed that the worshippers of the Eternal Dancers hate the undead, as they seek to remove themselves from the endless circle. This is not a truth. It is merely an aspect taken on by those that have not yet understood. You cannot evade the eternal circle, the undead are merely taking another route that we do not.

The eternal dancers were among the first creatures on Gondwana to achieve sapience and sentience. They are even beyond the races that are still unknown to the current inhabitants. Yet their story remains. They had gone mad before the first cities on Gondwana were built, long before anyone else ascended. Yet their story is still told. They have been raging and rampaging across the world for eons untold, bringing blessings and curses, destruction and rejuvination. Yet they still remain.
