Coyn
Coyn is a large disk-shaped island which is part of The Haven Islands. It was originally a fertile plain on the surface of the world, before it was shattered. Today it's a 100ft thick disk, that's around 20 miles in diameter (making it around 1200 sq miles)
A good portion of the population lives here, with the goal to create habitats for endagered species, rural homes for cultures that prefer them, and farmland. There are few hills in Coyn, and those that exist are carefully regulated in height, in order to keep the center of Coyn's gravity running through the disk itself, instead of slightly above the ground, as happened in the Great Mage Tower Incident.
Geography
The terrain of Coyn is primarily plain, although around the edges there are some rolling hills. Such hills are usually matched on the other side in order to keep gravity where it needs to be. There are a few forests on both sides of Coyn, managed by Druids and Foresters who ensure a variety of wildlife, while also limiting the grown to reasonable heights.
Coyn's gravity line runs down the center of it, thanks to a granite layer enriched by crystal. Both sides of Coyn have a layer of good topsoil, but it's still relatively thin -- deep enough for human use, but not much at all. This shape is where Coyn gets its name.
There are two lakes on Coyn, one on each side, each only as deep as required to get to the granite layer.
Fauna & Flora
Coyn had small amounts of naturally occurring water when the Awakening happened. It was enough to keep a basic cycle going, with weather grass, and many normal creatures native to grasslands. What trees existed were largely short, bushy trees that had evolved for the area, as trees that grew too large were unable to get their seeds to touch the ground due to the unique gravitational effects on Coyn. Small, medium fish have thrived in the lakes, with a few large species (but not many). Plains cats exist, as well as wolves, coyotes, and hyenas. There are several species of raptors and songbirds, as well as thriving insects, making Coyn a farmer's paradise.
Natural Resources
Coyn is Haven's breadbasket. Since much liquid is removed in the way of meats and grains to feed the people of The Scepter , Minos and Baobab, this is replenished regularly by the Druids. As people Awakened, and brought animals of all kinds with them, the Druids have worked to repopulate what they can on Coyn.
Coyn is the only real source of food for Haven and with Petricalifax's rule that "Everyone Eats" is the source of power on Coyn.
