The Blackglass Isles
Codex Solvaria: The Blackglass Isles
Region Type: Volcanic Archipelago – Southeastern Solvar
Renown: Isolated, feared, and seared into memory
“Forged by fire, ruled by stone, the Blackglass Isles remember no kings — only the silence left after the gods fell.”
Cut off from Solvar’s mainland by cruel, iron-gray seas, the Blackglass Isles rise like obsidian teeth from the deep. At their heart stands a great volcanic island, ringed by fjords, jagged cliffs, and black beaches where few ships dare land. Its smaller sister isle sleeps beneath ash and salt mist, whispering tales of fire long spent—and not yet done.
Though perilous and stark, the Isles are strangely fertile, the result of ash-rich soil born from volcanic sacrifice. Scraggly orchards cling to ravines; wild goats walk narrow ridges as though balancing on memory itself. But survival here is neither quiet nor kind. The Isles offer little that is gentle—except in the barter of flame and silence.
All Solvar hungers for the Isles’ greatest secret: Blackglass, a rare volcanic crystal known to mute magic, bind spirits, and slay gods. Its mines are cursed, its veins run deep, and its price is always steep.
Here, no crowns are worn. Power is kept in iron oaths, salt-blooded clans, and the ancient forge-rites that still echo through the mountains when the sky grows red.
