The Black Vigil
Codex Solvaria: The Black Vigil
Faction: The Black Vigil
Region: Blackglass Isles, coastal strongholds, and occupied frontier holdings
Renown: Feared, secretive, and politically protected
The Black Vigil is House Dru’vok’s inquisitorial arm, a cold, silent order tasked with rooting out heresy, rogue magic, and “truths best unspoken.” Led by the ruthless and enigmatic Inquisitor Strath, they answer only to the high lords of Dru’vok—and some whisper, to even older edicts written in Blackglass and sealed in blood.
Clad in ash-black garments lined with protective Blackglass threads, the Vigil operates in twilight courts and midnight raids. Their presence is marked by the extinguishing of lamps, the tolling of a single bell, and the silence that follows. Wherever the Vigil walks, secrets burn.
They are known to seize relics, erase texts, and disappear witnesses. Many fear them as enforcers of a growing occult orthodoxy—one that sees memory, magic, and mourning not as sacred, but as threats to the world’s order. Strath himself is said to possess a shard of memory too dangerous to destroy and too vital to forget.
