Cointoss
The
Cointoss was a modest tavern in
Yartar, catering primarily to the city's locals. It was owned and run by
Tanataskar Moonwind, a former adventurer, as of the Year of the Tankard, 1370 DR.
Location
The tavern was located near Yartar’s marketplace, the
Fishyard, a central location for the city’s daily activities.
Atmosphere
The
Cointoss was known for its quiet, unremarkable atmosphere. Yartarrans preferred its simple, poorly lit interior, making it a popular spot for those seeking a calm and undisturbed experience. Rowdy behavior and scheming were uncommon, and the tavern’s regulars were adverse to such activities.
Services
The tavern was named for a standing challenge set by its owner. Patrons who could toss a coin through the eye slit of an old helm earned a free drink. Despite its simplicity, the Cointoss served the locals well with drinks and a cozy environment.
History
Tanataskar Moonwind, the proprietor of the Cointoss, was once a proud adventurer and a follower of Tempus. However, his hubris angered the deity, and Tanataskar was cursed to fly into uncontrollable rage whenever he shed the blood of another. Unable to continue his adventuring life, he retired and settled in Yartar, where he ran the tavern and enjoyed hearing tales of adventure from patrons.
