The
Lionshield Coster, also known as the Lionshields, was a prominent merchant company based in
Yartar that operated throughout the
Dessarin Valley during the 15th century DR.
Symbol
The company's symbol featured a lion's head on a shield. This shield was either depicted as wooden or metal, with the lion sometimes colored blue or set against a blue background.
Bases of Operation
The Lionshield Coster was active in shipping finished goods, including armor and weapons, to various small settlements and towns in northwestern Faerûn. Notable bases included:
**Phandalin**: The town’s trading post was managed by Linene Graywind.
**Nightstone**: The trading post was overseen by Darthag Ulgar.
**Triboar**: The store known as The Lion's Share was managed by Narth Tezrin and Alaestra Ulgar.
History
In the late 15th century, the Nightstone trading post was sacked by
Goblins led by Boss Hark after the town had been devastated by a cloud giant.
In 1491 DR, known as the Year of the Scarlet Witch, shipments to the
Phandalin post went missing. Initially, Linene Graywind suspected the Redbrands were behind the thefts, but it was later discovered that goblins from
The Cragmaw Tribe were responsible for the missing goods.
