The Traveler's Kora

The Traveler's Kora is a magical kora that the recipient is automatically proficient in. It is gifted without any messenger, and appears in a place where it will be discovered by it's recipient with a relevant but anonymous note attached. Recipents of the kora find themselves encountering it after a life-altering or perspective shifting event in their life. This is always a sign of the Traveler chosing a Child and is never something that can be sought out.

This kora is unique from others because the tuning pegs are made out of ivory instead of wood, and there are images, symbols, and runes engraved into each of the 21 pegs. The first and last pegs have the symbol of the Traveler engraved on them. The other 19 pegs reveal a narrative that describes that creature's journey with the Traveler.

A Kora is a hide wrapped calabash gourd, with a rosewood neck attached and 21 strings made of stretched antelope hide.
