The Rift

The catastrophic event known as The Rift marked the end of the Era of Reckoning. The cause of the Rift has been debated throughout history but everyone pretty much agrees that it was the largest and most world altering event to happen in the global history of The Shattered Oceans, and is recorded in nearly every history book after it's ocurrence. When The Rift happened, there were dozens of towns, villages, and settlements that were swallowed up by the Sea. Over 50,000 lives were claimed, and the continent of Andalus was now divided and set on a course of navigating life with the Rift right in their backyard.

The effects of the Rift stretched up past the newly formed mega fjord and continent called the Tear of Pasiphae, and deep into the Southern Tripartite. Although the effects may seem somewhat delayed, they were a direct result of the rift; including the colossal eruption of the megavolcano on Zimura.
