The Crystal Caves - A Dragon Smuggling Opportunity

Zircon is a Young Crystal Dragon whose egg was birthed in the North, in a cave on the South Face of the Tear of Pasiphae. He was stolen from his mother's lair and taken away on a cargo ship, where he traveled all the way to Solari Isle, over 4,000 miles away from home, with a number of other dragon eggs from across the world.

Before he hatched, Zircon changed hands many times, being traded amongst Black Market merchants until he eventually hatched on his way to a Smuggler's Cove on the Gulf of Iridensa. He was able to sneak off the ship, his grey scales blending in with the coastline, and he continued to run, hide, and hunt until he finally found The Crystal Caves. The caves had crystal ores in them before Zircon made it his home, but since he moved in, the entire cave has turned to complete crystal. The floors, walls, and ceilings are all covered in glittering crystals of varying colors.

For the quest, players will have to figure out a way to smuggle the dragon North. They can either do it themselves with the ship they will receive from Leona, or they can try to make allies, ask for Leona's help, or something new, and check up on Zircon as his journey progresses. If they ask for Leona's help, she will take take up as her duty to help this dragon get back to his home, and will charter a Sloop of War to get it done. She has a crew to send it with, which players can check up as they continue to quest separately throughout the world, or the players can volunteer for the voyage, and commandeer the Sloop of War.

In the Crystal Caves lives a Crystal Dragon named Zircon who has taken up residence in the cave and made it his lair. He was born in the final year of the Age of Twiight, and hatched in the second year of the Age of Oblivion. He is currently 7 years old. When players happen upon the cave, he will not be immediately visible. He is actually hiding against the Crystal ceiling and can only be spotted with a DC 18 Investigation Check. If he is spotted, he will engage with the players and tell them of his plans.

Zircon's ultimate goal is to get back to the North and find a mate. He has thought of different ways to do this but would most certainly risk being shot down and killed, or worse. He does not know why dragons seem to be so unwelcome, but he is scared to make this journey for fear that he will never feel the frost on his scales again.
