Iridensa, the Water Maiden

Iridensa is a Water Goddess who is worshipped throughout the Shattered Oceans, especially in the Southern Tripartite. There are three major water goddesses throughout the world that represent the Maiden, Mother, and Crone aspects of human life. Iridensa represents the Maiden, and is associated with youth, the Spring, new beginnings, beauty, healing, and smaller bodies of water such as ponds, lakes, and rivers. Naiads love to make their homes in the waters associated with her. Other names for Iridensa include The Water Maiden, The River Sprite, and The Current of Change. The festival of Iridensa is celebrated in the Springtime. People celebrate by preparing meals foraged and fished from the nearby bodies of water. Symbolism associated with Iridensa includes lotus flowers, green tourmaline, the ibis bird, and ladybugs. Many citizens of The Shattered Oceans have a general respect for her (as they do with most water dieties), but there are few villages that worship her primarily and regularly make offerings and perform rituals for the well being of their island and land. Altars to Iridensa can often be found in Chapels and Temples to Water gods and goddesses, as well as along coastlines.
