Orangebeard
Scourge Of The Eastern Seas
The main continent is, of course, surrounded by water on all sides. There's not much out there, but some larger islands remain inhabited. Ports export unique exotic goods and produce, making large amounts of money in this aspect. This is where Orangebeard the Wretched comes in.
Born in the small port town of Silver Shores off the east coast of Ardent, Joseph Ripple was the son of a merchant. His father was often away on long voyages, but his family made enough to get by. That is, until his father was lost to the sea. Falling into poverty and missing his father, Joseph decided to become a man of the sea to both carry on his father's legacy and perhaps locate some trace of him. He joined a merchant's crew and worked for a good few years, until one day when his ship was attacked by pirates. Instead of perishing with the rest of his crewmates, Joseph joined the pirate crew. A few decades later, Joseph has become the captain, and the seas have turned him from a idealistic, bright-eyed boy into a cruel, sadistic pirate legend. His ginger hair, the most notable of which being his long, bushy beard, signals death for all who see it. Thus is the legend of Orangebeard, scourge of the Eastern Sea.
His years of villainy have created a real problem for the people who live by and work in the Eastern Sea. Maybe a band of heroes will stop him?

Captain of the large galleon "Scourge."
Famous for many odd jobs, but most famous for being a general nuisance to anyone attempting trade in the Eastern Seas
Orangebeard has been around for many years, but he's recently become much more active, making any trade in the area practically impossible. This is basically a death sentence for the economy of Silver Shores, as trade with the Eastern Islands is essential to their profits. Why is Orangebeard becoming active again? Can he be stopped? Or is the town of Silver Shores doomed for good?
