Authors write the articles and books of Doskvol. Authors are more common than one might think in The Dusk. Escapism is not unwelcome.
Prestige: While journalists are looked at with some degree of suspicion and annoyance, authors are often considered celebrities, despite many being reclusive by nature.
Accoutrement: Authors will always have reams and reams of precious paper. Those who can afford it will have a typewriter. They usually have a pen handy and plenty of ink.
Training: Authors typically train in the stacks of the libraries, reading hundreds of books before the stories mix together in their minds and give birth to new stories. When these stories cannot be contained anymore, an Author is born. Well, a manuscript is born. If anyone wants to read it, then an Author is born.
