The Shadow War Chronicles

Almira is a kingdom in conflict. Decimated by the Shadow Wars, it has spent much of recent history in recovery, but the scars of war have not faded from the minds of its people. Fear has taken root in the hearts of many Almirans, directed toward their countrymen and women who wield Magic.   As Mages were the cause of the Shadow Wars, many blame them still for the suffering they endured, and harsh protections have been put in place to control any who show signs of Magic.   Almira is bordered by a large mountain range in the north and the harsh desert to the south.
