The Óðinnsight: The Right Eye of Odin
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Chrono Vision
"The power to see the past, present and future. The user can see any point in time, from only a few seconds, minutes, even hours into the past/present and future, up to events all throughout time, whether that be along their own timelines or along the timelines of others."
The Right Eye of Odin has been bathed in the waters of the Well of Wisdom in Mímisbrunnr for centuries, giving it the ability to peer across time and space, both backward and forwards, granted that the mind can handle such a perception. This power is guided by Destiny, allowing the Eye to read the pattern of reality, itself dictated by Fate, and derive past patterns and predict future patterns to such a high degree of accuracy. In the absence of Fate/Destiny, the best the Eye can do is help the user make educated guesses based on said patterns. Outside of Viewing the Past, Present, and Future, the Right Eeye of Odin Chrono Vision grants several other minor ability applications.
- Causality Perception: The ability to perceive and understand all cause and effect relations. The user can perceive and understand all cause and effect relations, deducing the path leading to any effect, allowing them to plan, analyze, and take action efficiently. They can perceive the cause-and-effect relations of their own thoughts giving them the ability to tackle various situations by simply thinking about possible routes they could take. The user can instantly understand anything by perceiving all the causes/effects it is currently made of and all the previous ones that lead to this state. For example, a simple glance at someone would be enough to learn about their nature, personality, history, expectations, strengths, weaknesses, etc. The perception can also be turned to the person's future, its many paths, its probabilities, and the one that will eventually be realized.
The Sight of the Divine
"The ability to see reality from the eyes of a deities or divine, cosmic entity. The user can see the divine beings (angels, deities, holy spirits and even the psychopomps) and their actions and possess or gather divine knowledge. They are also able to see divine or mystic realms and perceive the world on many different planes of existence."The Right Eye of Odin, being an organ of a Divine Being, has divine attributes, chief among them being the ability to see reality with the perception of a God. Practically, what this means, is that users can perceive the True Form of Gods and other Holy beings, something Mortal and Unholy Holy Eyes cannot do without insanity or death. It also allows the user to casually peer into other planes of existence, as Gods are known to do on a whim. Once a person claims the Right Eye of Odin and implants it into themselves, it can never be removed until they die.
History
An age ago, when the Allfather was still just Prince Odin of Ásgarðr, he sought out infinite knowledge at the Well of Wisdom, located in Mímisbrunnr, a Minor Realm within the Jötunheimr Space. It was protected by Lord Mímir, a mighty Jötnar who possessed boundless intelligence. When Odin approached, Mímir would not be moved until Odin sacrificed something of equal value to the wisdom he sought from the well. Odin gouged out one of his divine eyes and left it in the Well, where it sat, bathed in the magic waters, granting it the incredible power it now wields. It is said that though it was disconnected from Odin, he retained the ability to see out of it and make use of the powers it gained.
