With higher armor and weapons classifications, Galleons straddle the line between commercial and military-grade starships, making them versatile assets in both trade and conflict.

Haulers excel in transporting massive loads but require escort fleets for protection, limiting their practicality to well-patrolled and civilized space. However, some companies may opt to forgo escorts in safer regions, accepting calculated risks to capitalize on opportunities in stable sectors. Conversely, Galleons thrive in less civilized territories where self-defense is imperative, although they may venture into safer regions when carrying exceptionally valuable or fragile cargo. They are particularly favored by colony fleets as cargo ships and supply lines until more permanent infrastructure, such as Solar Rails, can be established.
