Jykorz'un

The Jykorz'un were part of the Kasuri Athándr, or the Watchful Eyes, the Tílunuren special forces. They were Rusalye Würani's personal bodyguard unit, although he was more than capable of protecting himself. They were also charged with the usual duties of the Kasuri Athándr; arresting criminals, scouting into enemy territory, leading the Tílunuren army along secret paths during wartime, guarding important dignitaries, and the like.   The Jykorz'un were created soon after Rusalye took command of the Kasuri Athándr. The soldiers who were part of the group had to go through a harsh selection process that ensured only the best made it in. After a series of rigorous trials, the men were handpicked by Rusalye, and the choices had to be run by Tywell and his inner circle.   When Rusalye created the Jykorz'un, he appointed several lieutenants, who were charged with commanding the unit in his absence. The most famous of these lieutenants was Kari'shal'ak, a former mercenary who led the Jykorz'un on many important missions, including the missions codenamed Celestial Flame, Roaring Seas, and Lightning Strike.   Many of the members of the Jykorz'un could speak Qëarya, the main dialect of elvish. Some rare people already knew it when they joined the Jykorz'un, but others were taught by Rusalye and elven teachers that he employed, at least until they could understand enough for a war. The Jykorz'un, and the Kasuri Athándr as a whole, used Qëarya as a 'code' during wartime, in the hope that the enemy would not understand it. However, knowing it was possible, they also encoded it within the elvish language. Rusalye himself was fluent in several elvish dialects, including Qëarya.   The Jykorz'un were responsible for the infiltration of Azartius' fortress on Avkazûr near the end of the Third Age of Irëduin, and the unit was destroyed in the ensuing battle.
