Commander of the Kasuri Athándr

The title Commander of the Kasuri Athándr was held by many during the Third Age of Irëduin, most notably the fifteen year-old Rusalye Würani, and his successor, Wëls Xarandar.
The Kasuri Athándr were created in 1047 by a lord of the king's court(whose name has sadly been forgotten) who felt that a special force was needed to hunt down the newly formed rebellion known as Gu B'omarrin Kashar. He had special ties with the elves, and a network of spies throughout the country, so he named the group the Kasuri Athándr, which means Watchful Eyes in Qëarya. The group were quickly put to work hunting down the rebels, and they were successful on many an occasion.
The lord held the title of Commander of the Kasuri Athándr for four years before passing it on to his son, who immediately threw himself into the work. However, this did not mean the title was heriditary; if the lord had not thought his son worthy, he would have given the position to another. Therafter, the position was appointed by an impartial group of nobles, who were not allowed under any circumstances to receive bribes of any sort, under pain of death. They gave the position to the one they thought most worthy of receiving it.
The Commander was responsible for controlling all of the units that made up the Kasuri Athándr, for disciplining unruly soldiers, for accepting or denying new applicants, and for organizing the records of the members, missions, and inventory of the group (although there was a trusted official that helped with the last item).
In 2764, when Rusalye Würani took control of both the Kasuri Athándr and Idur Athándrï, the two titles of Commander of the Kasuri Athándr and Lord of Idur Athándrï were combined into the position of Thalíandr, which, translated from Qëarya, roughly means master of watching. Even after his death, Rusalye was informally known as the Thalíandr.
