Black for war, the dark of midnight,
Gold for the coming dawn.

Document Structure
Clauses
The History of the Ironfoot Isles has four major sections: Heroes, Technology, War, and Future. The Heroes section is not necessarily all heroes, but it documents the biographies of one hundred notable personalities in the last one thousand years, notable meaning the most influential. They document emperors, warlords, generals, politicians, engineers, demagogues, villians, really anyone that merits attention.
Next, they move on to technologies, where they document one hundred of the most influential technologies of the millennium. Afterwards, they write about the major time periods of the millennium. If possible, they will try to divide it into ten strict periods because of their decimal organization, but if there are other noteworthy periods they will extend the section.
The final section is much shorter than all the others: the Future. The future is a brief, ten page, one hundred paragraph prediction of what is going to happen in the next millennium. Printed in gold ink, it stands out with its cautious optimism. While such optimism has usually been met with catastrophe, it is still something to look up to when things seem at their worst: the ancestors' shining prediction of what is to come.
Publication Status

Historical Details
Background
When the Society of Magisters was founded approximately 500 B.U, during the Age of Empire, one of their first royal commissions was to document the history of the Empire, over the past one thousand years. The Society elected a Historian-General, and he set to work non-stop with his aides scouring the empire for historical references. When he went to sleep, exhausted, at night, the Historian-General used a half-wooden pillow so that if he turned in his sleep he would get jolted awake and start working on his history again.
Every one hundred years, even after the Empire fell apart and the last empress was killed in battle, the Society of Magisters still turns out an updated copy of the History of the Ironfoot Isles, honoring their original royal charter even when their purpose has radically changed. The work is considered one of the premier historical treatises in-- well, history.
