After the Great Uprising of Riftdawn the Admiralty all but abandoned their mainland County of Malimar, as such the stage was set for Barron Malapitan to usurp the aging Count and assume the rule of Malimar. All would have gone down well if he had not diverted h force to aid Danmar and assault a costal city of Nochi. As such Nochi struck against Malimar with a vengeance. The only force at the time with offensive capabilities in southern Nochi was in Bellhurst so they marched south over the River Bell conquering all lands north of the Sanguine Mountains.
