The Canopy
The Most well traveled, and one of the safest parts of the Sea of Trees, The canopy is the great expance marked by the crowns of the many trees. While often sparse near the edge of the continental shelf and the woodland, much of the rest of the canopy is thick enough that travel soley in these upper sections of the sea is not only feasible, it is far safer than descending deeper in to find solid ground. Many of the true sea dwelling races, such as wood elves and harpies make their homes in the canopy, or just below it, and many make a living acting as guides for traders, finding caravans the connecting routes and avoiding the dangers inherent to even the safer parts of the Sea.
