Lord Chudrel Rapier

Chudrel was the first official ruler of the Scepter valley as controlled by the Sovereign Sword Coast Nation. His rule lasted forty years, until the end of his long life of eighty years. The seat of his power, was and remains, the inn and brothel, Brigand's Respite, in the fishing village of Dampreed.   Chudrel made many mistakes and bizarre, inexplicable proclamations, most of which scholars attribute to his extreme cowardice. The top three idiot decisions include: 1. Allowing bandit control of Elvenstone and, generally, the entire valley. 2. Allowing a prominent goblin hoard to go unchallenged, even to the extent of proclaiming the gang, in writing, official residents of Timeil Hall, what is now Whitestone Quarry. The hoard maintains property rights, even after having been driven out of the valley at the founding of Gavenlow. 3. The crippling superstition and cowardice that prevented him from plundering the most profitable ruins in northern Faerun.   See The Scepter (Nation), History section.
