Gundrun

The City on the Edge of Chaos:

Gundrun is a small city in the Southern Plains of Sarkoris, next to the Croaking Lake. Originally just a small Crusader outpost, Gundrun has seen considerable development since the closing of the Worldwound, and now acts as the capital for the fledgling government of Sarkoris.
This city has quickly grown to be the center of the Reclaimers and the Descendants of Old Sarkoris. Whether motivated by the desire to recover ancestral homelands, to cleanse the taint left by the Worldwound, seeking lost treasures or a ruined civilization, or simply to be living on the edge of a new frontier, this town has slowly drawn a population of brave founders which have transformed Gundrun from a outpost to the beginnings of a true city.

Personalities of Gundrun:

Much was lost when Old Sarkoris fell. With your help perhaps we can begin the road to recovering some of what we had.
The Governess Vasira Eldins is the the currently in charge of Gundrun, her family having done much to maintain the cultural identity of the surviving Sarkoris refugees, and personally leading the charge in returning to reclaim their ancestral homeland with a contingent of her local Sarkoris descendants, hoping that their example will inspire more of the survivors to return to their lost ancestral homeland. Being a fairly shrewd leader Varisa was more than happy to accept the assistance of several druidic, clerical, and ranger orders which formed the Reclaimers which help to tame and purify the wildness that was once her homeland, as well as offering citizenship and farmsteads to any former Crusaders who were so inclined as to stay in the region in recognition of their service in keeping the Worldwound contained and eventually sealed. Additionally, Varisa personally recruited several key advisors and supporters to help organize and develop Gundrun as a foothold in Sarkoris.

Yo, welcome to Gundrun! Please don't be making trouble in my town yah?
The Captain of the Town Guard, and main contact for the adventures in the Town of Gundrun is Elizra Fritzgib, a vibrant and tomboyish Gnome woman. The unobservant might misconstrue her overall cheerful attitude as lackadaisical, but Captain Fitzgib is keenly observant of things going on in 'her town' and takes her responsibility seriously, particularly when it comes to correctly using her resources.

May Yuelral inspire your paths, and provide you with inspiration.
Elsiron Starwave is the elf head priest of the temple in Gundrun. While the temple itself is largely non-denominational, with small alters and alcoves to the many non-evil deities of Golarion, Elsiron himself favors Yuelral, though they know most of the common ceremonies/festivals of the Golarion gods, and has several supporting priests and acolytes with more specialized knowledge of the other gods.

The flow of these lands must be healed, lest the old scars of the Worldwound leak the foul taint of chaos once more.
Head of the Reclaimers, the elder dwarven druid Brenri Stoneforge acts as the head coordinator in removing the chaos taint from the Sarkoris, though much of his efforts have been focused on Gundrun's immediate surroundings of the Southern Planes and the nearby Warp Wood.

Be cautious when you depart, we have several reports of roving wolfpacks out that way.
Gunthar Frostsun is the Head Ranger of Gundrun, and coordinates with the town guard and Reclaimers to establish the external security and scouting priorities of the ranger patrols which act as the first line of defense for the city.

*Grunt* You should take care with whatever you find out there, there are old evils that haunt this land.
A half-orc woman of dour disposition and somewhat eclectic interests Hag Larg is responsible for the analysis and handling of items of a magical nature found in the ruins of Old Sarkoris. She works very closely with the Governess to help sort through the various sundries which are brought in to help separate historically significant items from dangerously tainted or actively Abyssal items. She also helps coordinate and regulate the magical research of those that have come to Gundrun to study the unique materials of the former Worldwound.

What a lovely day, everything in it place and running as it should.
The angelic influence of Oesani's Aasimar heritage are clear in her architecture. The newer areas of Gundrun boast great sweeping archways, beautifully worked support pillars, and numerous carefully designed open pathways between buildings, thanks to her work as Head Architect.

Mmmm, yes, I believe I have just the thing for that. While I have your attention, perhaps I could interest you in these as well?
Ephi Fayese is a shrewd, sarcastic, clever Drow, who delights in pranking, hassling, and otherwise teasing her Aasimar 'rival' Oesani. Ephi runs the Spider's Kiss in the Market District or Gundrun, which acts as the main source of magical items and curiosities in Gundrun. Ephi also has a formal capacity in Gundrun as the Leader of the Merchants Guild, which she runs fairly, though she has very little patience for those that would attempt to do business in Gundrun without the blessing of the Guild.

For shiny things that claw and bite... Slagtooth has what you need to fight.
A rather eccentric sort, Griz Slagtooth is a goblin blacksmith, who handles much of the arms and armor requirements of Gundrun. While their work for the city guard, and Reclaimers is generally standard enough, though Slagtooth indulges in more traditionally goblin styled weapons and armor for his stocked goods. Despite their often more jagged and slapdash looks, Slagtooth's arms and armor are of truely masterwork quality, with exceptional balance, weight, and grip.

Welcome aboard the wagon train to a new life!
While not a regular resident of Gundrun, Bosrit Smokereed is possibly the second most important person to Gundrun and it's growth, running the Caravan which brings new settlers and supplies to the city. Fitting many peoples stereotypes for a halfling, Bosrit is a jovial sort, who's relaxed way of speaking and passionate interest in his Caravan acts as a strong draw for new settler. Caravan Master Smokereed is no fool however, and many of the current city guard as well as some of the adventuring parties at Gundrun's disposal are thanks to Bosrit's keen awareness that a fully laden Caravan needs expert protection from possible threats, both from bandits, and the Boggards of the Croaking Lake.

Welcome to the Dwarven district. What can this servant of the many Kings do for you?
A middle aged dwarves from the Five Kings Mountains, while originally from the citadel of Highhelm, Thogris Brassclatter has started his career as a caravanner handling trade between the various Dwarven holds, the connections he gained over the course of his time as a traveling merchant and reputation for fair dealing gained him allies in almost every dwarven hold he visited. The eventually gained him the attention of the dwarven lords, and he was recruited to handle the logistics and inter-hold trade policies of the Dwarven Kingdoms. His latest assignment has been to set up the dwarven district in Gundrun, and acts as the emissary between Governess Eldins and the Dwarven Kings, and helps advise how to navigate the intricacies of Dwarven politics.
