The Ancient Gods

The old legend of the primordial beasts that created the planes:

Long ago, in a time of turmoil and uncertainty, three grand forces fought for control. There was no sea, no mountain, neither land or beast nor man. A great gap spanned the bridge of the divine beasts. The celestial blaze clashed fiercely with the cosmic phantom for control of this void. The blaze, whom ignited the fire of creation was putting his strength into banishing the icy grasps of the all destroying phantom. It was than when the eternal rebirth stole a part of the flame and corrupted it. He sprouted abominations of his own and tipped the scales of power. Ever since the beasts clash and dominate each other in cycles.

Death subduing Mutation, subduing Creation, subduing Death. Many times have those three battled. And every time their impact upon the world was felt. Where the Blaze creates, rebirth forms and the phantom reaps. In a final confrontations they meet and nearly wipe each other out and their creations with them.

Man knew that his time would falter if the divine beings are given room to breath. He inspired every race of the known world to stand up to tyranny and face those beasts. Many souls were lost the day the ancient gods were slain and captured and banished. Their remains made secret to the survivors, guarded by the most secrets of orders. Never again shall Ataiyo blaze his fire, Xolthuun spew deformity nor Volthalos extend his icy grasp.
