Dragons

Dragons are an ancient race of intelligent reptilian(looking) creatures who often possess a variety of magical and unusual abilities, including winged or magical flight. Due to their power, they are considered to be among the many potential threats to our continued precedence within the system. They are sometimes referred to as wyrms and wyrmlings. The dragon language is difficult for the human mouth to reproduce but not impossible.
Origin: Dragons come from a “Distant Star” specifics not known. They are a species that has traveled the expanse of space the “Old Fashioned Way” and so have likely spent eons to get “here”.
Habitat: They have come to inhabit a great-many planets
Physical Description: There are a scant few consistent traits that can be guaranteed to be found on a dragon but a typical specimen and most often found traits are the following, Dragons are scaled, reptilian creatures with large wings capable of flight. A dragon has a long tail that can be used as a weapon, and typically has multiple horns on its head and a ridge or horns along its spine. They come in a great many sizes some smaller than a house cat, some reportedly larger than Mountain(need more data for conclusive assessment).
Dragon Relations:
Language- Dragon speech is something born into rather than learned for them, which contributed to the delay in establishing communication with them initially for many years. Translators and Translations have been produced but are in the early stages of circulation on top of lacking in demand causing such tools to be almost exclusively exist in the hands of scholars and diplomats.


Humanity- Dragons relationship with humanity at large are a mixed bag, some places they have come to co-exist but in many others they are in all out war. Dragons being recognized by the Federation as sentient beings have the same baseline legal protections granted to aliens but not much beyond that, these scant protections are often conveniently forgotten or otherwise go unenforced if not blatantly opposed. There are many people who treat them as sentient being, to be respected and treated with decency. There are many people who treat them just as any other game, to be hunted or kept as exotic pets.
Lamira- Lamira can innately understand them and with their closer to human anatomy have been known to act a Liaisons for dragons. In dragon heavy locations Lamira tend to also be found as they see each other as kin.
Krogs- The krogs have been seen to have better relations with dragons than humanity.
