Catacus Valley (Ca-tuh-cuss)

Catacus Valley is a settlement that covers a large, partially uncultivated area that grows various edible cacti, cacti fruits and other desert plants, which are harvested annually for over several years due to their slow growth rate and works well with the rivers that only reappear once in a while. Because of the importance of its production of food such as the bland and tasteless mass produced cactus pads and sought after sweet but tingly fruits, many underlying crimes are overlooked such as the production of hallucinogens made from the water found inside various cacti. The place is also popular because of an Agave plant used to make alcohol. As such, farms are heavily watched over and regulated to discourage thievery. Business is fair but booming, keeping the settlement from going under.
