Aesop's Chokehold

In ancient times the location used to be a major Krog City called Aesop. A settlement created by the Krogs who lived within the canyon walls with a large stone gate, bearing multiple city layers and a complex of interconnecting tunnels. The city experienced must growth and prosperity, until a Metal Dragon arrived. It attacked Aesop and demanded its denizens worship it as their god. In revolt, the Krog of Aesop fought back to protect their freedom. The Metal Dragon created Metal Drakes, in which their iron-dust breath weapon were capable of grinding Krogs and their rock defenses into dust, drilling holes into their main gate.   After many years of fighting turned siege, the Krogs were at their wits end. It was in their preparation to escape with survivors where they stumble onto a diamond reserve. They used the diamond dust to create a large stone spear in secret, which allowed the projectile to bypass the Dragon and Drakes iron-dust breath. At an opportune moment, the Krogs launched it at the Metal Dragon, successfully piercing it's metal scales, and forced it to flee as it was mortally wounded.   Although Aesop stood victorious, it suffered heavy losses. Their city was destroyed and hollowed out, many of their brave warriors were grounded into dust, and the Metal Drakes that scattered started to take shelter in their broken city levels. Before leaving their former city, the Krogs built two large statues of Krog Guardians holding their hands out. Their hands are mixed with diamond dust, to make them glitter under the sun, in which altogether served as both a memorial to the siege as well as to deter the Metal Dragon from ever coming back. This location would then be renamed as Aesop's Chokehold.   Many years later, the location has become more a historical site and tourist attractions. Metal Drakes still nest inside the forgotten city areas within the canyon and much of the original splendors have been lost. Due to the death of Krogs and iron-dust breath, the area right around the two statues is stained a dull grey color like that of steel. To this day, there have been no news of the Metal Dragon ever returning, neither have there been any confirmation if it died of its wound. The two Krog Guardians continue to stand to in the sands of time, their held hands glimmering with diamond dust as a means of warding misfortune.
