Dex is rather sadistic and maybe a little creepy. He doesn't really know his way around social situations. After being rejected by others all his life, hurting people has become fun for him, but he still longs for interpersonal contact. He just wants some friends.

After joining the ranks of Nikias Demiurge as one of his personal mercenaries, Dex met and became very close friends with Renato and Cameron. The three of them are Nikias' loyal lapdogs and are known in Everdom's underworld as the "Hyenas".

Dexter's only family was his father, whom he had a... troubled relationship with.

History
Nikias took in Dexter after taking notice of his abilities. Despite Dexter's often questionable behavior, he always treated very well, and Dexter, who never really had any positive reinforcement in his life, quickly became very attached to him to the point of obsession.
