Winter's Feast

One of a few major festivals held by the people of Linmeld, the Winter's Feast is a celebration of the crops they produce through the Summer and Fall. The whole town gathers together to have a feast in the center of town and in the Lizard's Gizzard, the local inn.   They have many different dishes, several of which different from year to year, but one of the most common themes amongst their cuisine, particularly for this particular feast, is pastries and other highly sweetened dishes. As the town grows a large among of sugar due to their fertile land on the lake's shores, they have ready supply of high quality sugar more so than most other places in the area.   While the town isn't particularly famous, and even its festivals don't often draw in huge amounts of traffic, there's always at least a few visitors from the nearby towns or wandering travelers who stop there for the feast. The town's baker does have a rather good reputation, and so people end up drawn there to have a taste of their pastries.   In addition to the feast, which is certainly the main event of the festival, there are also typically small games set up to amuse their children and passersby. Typically simple things such as ring toss games or darts, but it's still enough to make for a fun day away from the usual toils and work.   One year they even played host to a rather prominent noble from further south in Vestra, who had quite a good time at their fest: something that has helped bolster the town's reputation in the years since, and has certainly been a recurring talking point for the citizens of the town, who don't often get visitors of such notable prestige.
