The Four Seasons

The Four Seasons is a very large mural painted a few hundred years ago by Berinhaf Vander, an eccentric adventurer and artist. It is a depiction of the Riftgrounds in the center of the peace during the height of each of the four seasons, from a rainy spring to a beautiful red autumn. Surrounding the Riftgrounds is the four elemental planes from which these seasons originate, the planes of fire, earth, water, and air.

A Legendary Work of Art

While it is widely regarded as a very beautiful and elaborate piece, what makes the Four Season truly unique is the story behind its creation. It is said that Berinhaf personally traveled to each of the four elemental planes to retrieve unique materials he could use as pigments for his painting. According to the legend, the entirety of the Riftgrounds depiction is painted with these exotic pigments, while the other planes with painted with material from the Riftgrounds themselves. It is said this was done to represent the unity of the various planes of existence.
It's not really a different world. Oh, it certainly looks like it when you step into another plane. But in truth, they all affect each other. None of the world could stand on their own, not as we know them at least. The rifts don't lead to different worlds, but rather to another part of the bigger world most of us don't see.
— Berinhaf Vander
The piece garnered quite a bit of attention and recognition, and while he made many more works it is by far the most famous of Berinhaf's work. It was eventually moved from his own gallery to a museum in Ebonfyre, where it still resides to this day. Even there, among a collection of sofe of the grandest artifacts to be discovered, it is considered one of the prize pieces of their collection.
