Luwumbia

Luwumbia was the most advanced civilization in Dimension XVII, and was unparalleled across the Worlds for its technology.

Early History

The boom of development began with the arrival of some friendly aliens on September 30, 2239 CE. They came to Earth in the shape of sheep, to appear harmless, and worshipped a god of similar form named Lugh Dhoan.     These Howians, as they would be called, blessed humankind with their incredible science, and soon rapid social evolution began. Genetic experimentation was all the buzz and a New Humanity emerged.     Like humans in every way, except for being gifted with paranatural abilities unique to their combination of genes. Some could manipulate metals, some could fly. And soon this generation of Preterhumans would require some control.

The Mech Era

The first Kuber Suit was manufactured in Berlin, and was a tungsten beast thirty metres tall, built like a muscled human without skin. All subsequent Kuber Suits would follow similar materials and designs.     They were made to fight even the strongest of Praeters (as they came to be called), and an era of peace was maintained. Eventually the Suits lost their use and most were decommissioned.

The War

Soon enough, as typical of humans, war broke out. Luwumbia was forced to defend itself against other nations, and during this period millions died. The generational trauma would echo down for decades.     The results of the war include the enactment of the Asad Protocol which would ban certain types of weaponry in armed conflicts.

The Broken Man

Young Katsuki was a victim of the war. Seeing his parents killed in front of him by Praeter soldiers, he suffered permanent psychosis and was never the same.     Nevertheless, he did his best to have a life. His harrowing and dark paintings soon gained much repute and he rose in popularity. When asked once on a news special about what he wanted most in life, his response was to "cover the world with blood and razor blades."     One night, he was visited by an interdimensional being called Vovin (Dragon). This creature offered him incredible power in exchange for his life's service. A bargain was made, and a new Praeter was born.

The End of Heroes

Styling himself as "Revenge Man", he went on a rampage, brutally murdering Praeters who were part of the Schaft, a superhero organization charged with safeguarding their parts of the world.     His powers included the ability to make steel knives emerge from any part of his body and throw them with perfect accuracy, impenetrable skin, flight, and speed faster than a bullet. He took their eyeballs as trophies, hopping across continents at random and leaving behind a trail of chaos.     The first to be killed were the Council of Four in Europe: Ashlee Lulav, Ashleigh Hadas, Ash-Lee Aravah and Ashley Etrog, who could control air, fire, water and earth respectively.     Next Hugo Mariposo, known as El Gelatino, was killed in South America: he could turn into a giant heat-proof mound of jelly.     Jonon Salak in Asia and Z'zajhn in North America were next: the former could communicate with horses and cuckoo birds, the latter was a giant reptile man.     In Oceania Russell Garkain, alias Deathflag, held off Revenge Man for a few weeks, giving his comrades time to flee. He possessed tychokinesis, the ability to manipulate probability (i.e. good or back luck). Sooner or later luck runs out for all of us.     Johan Johansen, alias Polar Night, could turn time back by two hours, but even he couldn't stop the irrational rage of the "Blade-furred Bear."     Hamdel and Hamdard in the Middle East could join into one body and become a creature resembling a Chinese dragon. These twins put up the greatest fight.     Soon the world was in a panic once more, and Revenge Man was asked for a price. Every villain can be bought, surely?     He asked for an impossible amount: one iqosonotodonisilliard Luwumbian gold dinars (equivalent to nine hundred trillion American dollars in our world).     The nations were desperate, but there was one Luwumbian hero who had yet to fall.

Az-Zuharah

Daisy Hawk, or Zuharah (Venus) as his fans called him, had regenerative skills and could heal any person of any injury or sickness if they consumed a part of him, be it blood, spit, or even a fingernail. He was Luwumbia's protector for twenty years.     The Mercs, his biker gang, suggested he take on Revenge Man. He was a teen when the war began and had some experience. Why not?     It also helped that he was incredibly intelligent and could speak German, Spanish, English, Latin, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Hebrew, French, Arabic, Hungarian, Czech, Icelandic, Russian and Hawaiian.     Flumencurvus Obsecransus, a head of the Schaft who had not been killed yet, gave Daisy a Kuber Suit that hadn't been scrapped: The Argentinosaurus.     With his regeneration and mecha suit, a confident Zuharah searched for the killer of his friends and allies.

The Battle of October

October 23 was Luwumbian Independence Day. The perfect day for Revenge Man to cause maximum destruction.     He had planned to kill millions in subways across the country, but was called out by Zuharah for a fight. Not wanting to be seen as cowardly, he came to the centre of the capital city where a giant Kuber stood waiting for him.     The battle was legendary. Citizens watched a metal giant fighting a scrawny barefoot human in nothing but a pair of jeans and a flannel jacket, running along its arms and body like an ant while dodging projectiles and swords. They fought for six days, during which Daisy Hawk suffered multiple knife wounds in his cockpit, weakening him significantly.     Finally the robot managed to crush Revenge Man under its weight. His final words, recorded by a bystander nearby, were "Joudan no ma ni shinjitsu ga arawareru" ("Truth emerges between jokes").     It was done. A great threat defeated, all was well. But then from the sky came divine fire.     Large ships hosting a different alien race sent to deal with Vovin once and for all.     In a desperate attempt to stop their old foe permanently, they initiated an open conflict that swallowed the planet in flames. Very few survived, except for the Howians who were prepared for such an event and whose descendants would try to repair the world.     Some time later, two boys would accidentally appear on Dimension XVII's Earth, to be found by a survivor of the catastrophe.
