The Brain Trust heads to Janta V to find an old friend of Major General Winters, but along the way they get spied on by children, dragged into a bar fight and embroiled in a gang war...
It is a time of great ignorance in the galaxy. With the imminent arrival of Fleet Commander Trax and army group Theta, Major General Winters prepares for the final push against the remaining Imperial forces on Tartarus II, finally putting an end to the conflict that has raged across the now scarred jungle planet. Whilst one planet sees the light of peace in the near future, another spirals into chaos as rival factions fight to secure control of Janta V, taking advantage of the power vacuum left by Grelba The Hutt's demise. Having heard rumours of an old war buddy, thought to be lost, appearing on the desert planet, Winters decides to send a scouting party to follow up on the lead. But unable to secure the help of anyone useful, Winters resigns himself to entrust the mission with the group known as The Brain Trust... Janta V The crew are contacted by winters as they approach the planet “I trust you’re drawing close to the target planet now, gentlemen. I must stress that you are strictly here at my personal request, Janta V is in quite the state of turmoil at the moment so your involvement with the New Republic should not be broadcast to anyone planetside. I have spent a long time searching for a man I used to serve with in the Rebellion, an old friend of mine named Ledge Nixon. I have received recent reports from Janta V of a man residing there with a similar description and want you to investigate the validity of these claims. If they are true I want you to extend him an invitation to join me here at Berchtesgaden. Aside from the possibility of him being a great asset in this ongoing conflict, I owe this man a great deal and wish for the opportunity to one day repay him.” They find out this old friend is on Janta V and Winters wants to lend him a hand and let him know he has a friend in system. The communication is cut off as they head into land. Once they arrive at the spaceport they soon realise that Janta V has changed for the worse, they are asked for 500 credits to park the ship, Brett was sure it was free before. Rz explains that they are representatives from the 'Hutt Revival Movement 1762', somehow this info was connected deep in his data banks. As they make their way into town the brain trust hear a sound, its a birds call, they spot a child trying to hide, people are keeping an eye on who enters the planet. RZ then copies the sound and stores it in his audio banks. They see some gang members around and decide to go down some alleyways and lose them. The come out of th3e alleyways and are greeted by a monument to Grelba the Hutt covered in graffiti; ULTRAS 4 LIFE! - ORPHANS! They speak to some Ultras at the monument, they send them to the royal district where the Ultras preside. In the former palace of Grelba the Hutt they find Lexx the leader of the Ultras. They speak with him and ask about the whereabouts of Ledge Nixon, In exchange for an IOU he gives them the location, the bar, in order to keep them to their word they take the COMM frequency of the brain trust for the future. Once outside and on the way to the bar, RZ changes the COMM frequency for everyone so the Ultras can't contact them. From here they head to the bar where they fin Ledge Nixon drowning his sorrows, they sit down to talk to him and give him the message from Winters, he looks shocked to hear about his old friend, as this happens a commotion comes from the other side of the bar and someone comes hurtling through the air and through their table. Nixon having seen many of these fights head for the back exit of the bar, they dodge thrown bottles and chairs coming from the fray. A dancing Twi'lek attempts to smash a bottle over Brett's head. The gang make it out into the alley way only to be accosted by Brod, the Ultra’s hard man, although he seems to want a proper fight none of this blasters and blades, he even tells his own companions to put away their weapons. As the fight goes on Brett pulls out his stun pistol, at seeing this Brod's men pull out their blasters, at this point Brod's fate was sealed, he ends up without any head thanks to RZ. They follow Nixon back to his house where he explains he won't be able to come with them, he explains… “Grelba’s death left a power vacuum in the city, its fractured the people of Mos Heskarr and these fucking gangs have taken over, causing nothing but misery. This place is going to collapse into civil war or worse, we need to stem the tide as I fear larger powers would see Mos Heskarr as easy pickings right now, I've heard rumors about representatives of Santhe Industries cropping up all over town. I’d love to come with you boys and catch up with Winters, but I just… Just can't abandon this place. I’ve been that man before... I don't care for him much. If we’re to stand any chance of stopping these Santh bastards, this place is going to need a solid seat of power and this gang war bullshit is standing in the way of that.” They come up with a plan, they will go to the Orphans and suggest they pay them to take out the remaining Ultras, for a price. This will sort out their IOU as well as getting Nixon what he wants. They make their way to the Orphans hideout - the abandoned casino, while haggling over price they hear a familiar voice outside “ORPHANS, COME OUT TO PLAY-AAAYYY” The Ultras have come looking for a fight, their leader, Lexx is talking about what he plans to do when a rumble rolls through the sky and you look up you see three dropships fly low overhead in the direction of the city outskirts, all bearing the Santh industries insignia along their sides.
