Storm Inoculation

Log Line
A dangerous method of increasing one's resistance to the psionic effects of the Storm which can lead to some unintended side effects.
Procedure
The procedure itself is simple and follows a few basic steps:
  1. A large sample of Storm water must be made available and frozen prior to the treatment.
  2. The patient is then placed in a special chamber which should have two inlets and one outlet to drain everything.
  3. The Storm water should be poured until the chamber is halfway full.
  4. The rest of the chamber should be filled with a mixture of seawater and aloe.
  5. After 3 minutes of immersion, the outlet should be engaged.
  6. Once the patient is removed from the chamber, they will be placed on a salt bed to wick off as much moisture as possible.
After the salt bed, the patient should feel energy radiating on the outer layer of their skin as the salt bed pulls the Storm water's protection to the surface.
Side Effects
In rare cases patients have reported a loss of sensation throughout their body. While not a problem on its own, the process can deaden nerve cells to the point that the patient cannot feel any sort of pain. Some patients embrace this but many recognize the danger of not feeling pain since they are no longer able to self diagnose their injuries and ailments.   Other side effects are much more minor such as changing hair colors, rough skin patches, changing skin tones, and even a chance to increase physical strength.
Inventor
Julio Bahram is the Gnomish engineer in charge of the research lab at Bismark Conservatory and the inventor of Storm Inoculation. A man interested in the effects of the Storm on humanoid physiology, he willingly performed many experiments on himself in order to verify his theories on the properties of Storm Water. While most of his experiments have left him looking a bit strange even for a gnome, Julio has improved the Storm Innoculation process drastically over the last 10 years, giving divers a chance to swim out into the Storm Waters underneath the Storm for further exploration. There is currently a limit to how long one can swim in Storm Waters but Julio plans to make a more permanent version of his innoculation process before long.
