Sagas, The Great Thinker

Sagas is the god of reason and patron to the philosophers, scientists, and users of magic. Sagas fosters patience and reason, and teaches that they are the proper solution to most of life's problems. Sagas appears as an older man with a long flowing robes, oftentimes wielding great magic. Atop his shoulder sits a three-eyed Owl, which is said to serve as his eyes for watching over the realms of mortals.

Sagas teaches his followers to take the time to better understand an issue before taking action on it. He believes that in times of crisis it is important to remain calm and center oneself, and to avoid rushing into a hasty decision. He stresses the importance of education, and encourages his followers to always try to learn more about the world. He firmly believes that it is through the expansion of ones understanding of the world that they will be better able to make their own life in it, and improve the lives of others. He encourages each person to think on what they understand, and to share that with others, for collectively people can come to understand much more than they can individually, especially when they work to understand each other.

Magic is deeply important to Sagas as his followers as he believes that magic is ideally used as a tool to broaden one's understanding of the world. It is a great exercise in learning no matter where your magic comes from. Wizards understand the arcane, Sorcerers come to understand their heritage, Divine casters come to understand their gods or nature. The act of wielding magic is a sacred undertaking, and must be done responsibly, for just as magic can do great good so too can it inflict great harm. Irresponsibly using magic is a severe crime to Sagas, and using magic for evil is the very antitheses of his teachings.

Divine Domains

Sagas wields the divine aspects of Duty, Glyph, Knowledge, Magic, Truth, and Vigil.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Sagas's main symbol is a three eyed owl. Oftentimes his followers will place his symbol on their spell book or research notes, in hopes that Sagas will preserve them.

Tenets of Faith

Sagas has several rules his followers are to try and abide by at all times.

Always look for new ways to expand your understanding. Allowing yourself to stagnate can lead to your ruin.

Seek to understand those who oppose you. Often a war that lasted ten years would have been avoided had people sat down and had a conversation for ten minutes.

Look to the past and learn from your ancestors. The knowledge they gained can help spare you from making their mistakes.

Magic is the ultimate gift. Learn from it, grow from it, but always take care that you are using it for the right reasons.

Share and pass down what you have learned. The only people who can benefit more than you from the knowledge you have gained, are the people who have yet to acquire it for themselves.
