Bugbear

Bugbears are hulking, humanoid creatures that share distant ancestry with goblins and hobgoblins but possess a much more imposing and terrifying presence. Bugbears once thrived in hidden, shadowy corners of the world, lurking just beyond the edge of sight. Their uncanny ability to remain undetected and their imposing size made them effective hunters and raiders.

Despite their enormous size and fearsome strength, bugbears are surprisingly stealthy, using their fey-derived magic to blend into their surroundings. Their preference for ambushes and attacks under the cover of darkness makes them a dangerous and elusive foe. Though rare, they are found in Thunder Province, Shield Province, and Loam Province, where their tendency to lurk in shadows and hidden spaces aligns with the rugged, often isolated terrains of these regions.
