High Elf

High elves are typically depicted as being tall and slender, with pointed ears and a natural grace. They have a strong affinity for magic and are known for their mastery of the arcane arts. They are often haughty and aloof, valuing their own intelligence and magical abilities above those of other races. High elves are also known for their long lifespans, and may live for many centuries. They are usually portrayed as living in isolated elven cities or forests, and may be somewhat isolationist as a result. In combat, high elves are known for their proficiency with swords and bows, as well as their use of magic to gain an advantage in battle. High elves also experience the phenomenon known as Trance .

Eating Habits

Some elves tend to think that meal time is a bit of a waste; after living for hundreds of years, dinner time gets pretty stale. Though many have come to develop incredibly incredibly refined taste as a result. Many elves will search for dishes that are incredibly hard to come by, because they have the patience to wait for a high class meal. High elves eat a wide assortment of food, but their frailty makes them less inclined to drink heavy amounts like dwarves, or eat raw things.

Funeral Rites

High Elves' bodies are placed inside intricately carved, water-tight coffins with their favorite books, works of art, and pictures of loved ones. The coffin is set adrift in large rivers and carried out to sea. The premature death of a high elf is so rare and infrequent that they generally prepare their ceremony for decades. It is even common for elderly high elves to plan the day of their death, usually drinking flavorless poison with a fine glass of wine. This is so that everyone invited can plan accordingly, and accompany the coffin on the funeral procession to the river.
