Varhay, Undead God of the Cycle
''I am the shepherd of the dead. Let them come to me, lost and weary, and I shall return them to the earth anew. This is the Cycle of mortal lives. But woe unto any who try to escape this Cycle, to refuse my embrace, for my angels shall descend on them like lightning from the clouds, and they shall be dragged to my arms.'' - The Words of the Faith, Incrementum, 13:13-14The Cycle is the endless stream of birth, life, and death, and its stability is maintained by Varhay. Varhay curates those who die, ensuring their Conscious gets to its ultimate destination and taking in their Animus to be recycled into new life. Despite his status as the Undead God, Varhay frowns on most Undead. Of the Cursed, Blessed, and Pariah, only the Blessed are permitted to escape the cycle, and make up Varhay's clerics and paladins. The Cursed constitute those mindless undead, the zombies and the ghosts, who are returned to the cycle as a mercy, and the Pariah, who willingly escape the cycle, are returned to Varhay to be punished. Varhay's temples are common, handling funeral services across almost all of the Realms of Ratha, and his Blessed Undead paladins are the first to be called on to deal with the Cursed and Pariah Undead.
