Hobgoblins
'The hobgoblins are a force of nature. You'd hardly believe we're related to 'em, when you compare them to us. They took a bunch of warring goblin tribes, and turned us into an army. Marched us across a good chunk of the Mortal Kingdoms. Only stopped when some adventurers killed off the the hobgoblins, and the rest of us went back to normal again. It's strange, the way they affected us like that, but something about their discipline, their strength, just made them hard to ignore.' - Mudnose, formerly of the United Goblinoid ArmyHobgoblins are a relative of the Goblins, taller and stronger than their diminutive cousins. Their society is built on a rigid, martial structure, functioning as something more akin to an army than a regular society. Their laws are harsh, and their enforcement of them much the same, which has led to a great deal of mistrust surrounding them in the civilized areas of the world. Follow their rules, however, and provide something to the clan, and you will be protected and provided for, assuming you don't mind rigid control over almost every aspect of your life. On the rare occasions that the goblinoid races unite into an army, it's almost always catalysed by hobgoblins.
