Beliss, Svirfneblin Goddess of Optimism

For the Svirfneblin, life is hard. But even as the other races of the Underdark descend into evil to cope with the nature of their environment, the Svirfneblin never will. One thing separates them from the other races, one thing they have in common with their surface brethren even after centuries of isolation - optimism. Beliss is the personification of this optimism, of the belief that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that we should be smiling the whole way there. One of the few Underdark gods somewhat known on the surface world, Beliss' priests, while rare, are typically kind and quick to joke, reflecting her benevolent nature.
