Blacksmiths Crown

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Blacksmiths Crowns work by the creator infusing their feelings and magical energy into a curse which dwells inside the crown. This curse lasts as long as the feelings of the curses creator exists.

History

In ancient times, craftsmen mostly made Blacksmiths crowns to get revenge on nobles and royalty. The term "Blacksmiths crowns" refers to any cursed item meant to be worn on the head.
The first instance of a Blacksmiths crown comes from a diary from a half-elf name Klar Olka when he killed King Hamlatin Koraforos the Rich, later known as king Hamlatin Koraforos the Greedy. Klar wrote in his diary that he and his wife couldn't pay their taxes or finish their quotas. Klar went to apply for respite, but it was excepted by the King's court. When Klar returned home the same day, he found his home ransacked and his wife nowhere to be found. A note on the table said, "Your debt has been paid. See you next month". Klar keeping his composure but burning with rage on the inside, takes a bit of flat iron and cold forges it into a dark grey crown.
Klar brings the crown before the king and begs for his wife back. The king smirks "Sure, I will accept this gift of yours, and since you can work at this speed, I will also double your quota". The king gestures to a guard who then brings Klar's wife, a bit bruised and scared but alive. Klar seeing the treatment of his wife by the king, and his guards   Klar starts imagining crushing the king's head. Meanwhile, the king tries on his new crown, which happens to fit perfectly. But suddenly, the crown starts to feel tighter and tighter until the force of the crown becomes crushing. The king yelled in pain, the guards rushed to help the king while Klar and his wife ran out of the castle until they reach the northern gate and escaped the city.
King Hamlatin died that night after the crown crushed his head to 1/4 of its original size. Klar and his wife changed their names and died of old age in a hamlet in the mountains.
