Vera, the former Queen of Autumn is killed by an insurgent force during an attempted coup. After defeating the attackers by using the Cauldron's power, Kieran is picked by the powers of the realm in an unusual ascension and assumes the throne.

Vera, the former Queen of Autumn is killed by an insurgent force. While Kieran managed to defeat the attackers and save the realm, the former queen was mortally wounded, but entrusted the realm to Kieran before dying. While she seemed an unlikely ruler, the Stone of Destiny answered to her and she came out of the Proving successful in the end.
