Cathedrel

The many stone steps and switchbacks up the mountainside finally end at the gatehouse, guarded by the silent Bellators, and once you pass through the intricate portcullis Cathedrel stands unmistakably in front of you, it's many towers piercing into the heavens and its fields of flowers expanding off in every direction, tended to by many reverent priestesses dressed in white ritual finery. Many exterior buildings dot the landscape, some serving as storage and utility buildings while others serve more pious purposes. Ahead the path leads to the Great Chapel, and the large stained glass window above you depicts the symbolage of the Circulus Lunae.

Architecture

Most of the complex is of great carved stone, drab in color but of great craftsmanship. Exterior buildings and many important sites are constructed from wood, windows often covered with intricate latticework. Places of worship such as the Great chapel are adorned with stained glass windows, chandeliers, and a great many candles. Most of the building is decorated with silk in the form of billowing curtains or complex and colorful tapestries. The exterior is home to the famous flower fields of the Circulus Lunae and is well protected.

History

A great temple built by the High Lord Bombyx, originally a place for her studies and worship of the Lunar deity until she began to collect followers and students. She had more and more of the temple constructed over time to suit the needs of the growing institution and herself until it became the sprawling complex that it is today.
