The Realms

~Rise of the Crowned~   The Crowned rules the Realms unquestionably, being a somewhat divine being of supernatural power and longevity. They rule justly and records of their reign date back to the beginning of history. But recently they have struck by some virulent calamity. Their power fades and their health wanes; their time is coming to an end. Someone will have to ascend to the throne to replace them, and the High Lords, children of The Crowned, all eye that gilded title.   You have been charged with protecting and supporting The Crowned's choice for successor, but the other High Lords won't give up so easily. Will you follow your orders and secure the throne for who may be the best bet for the Realms' survival? Or do you believe in a different choice? Perhaps you have your eyes set on the throne yourself.   Rise of The Crowned is a D&D 5e campaign in the works, taking inspiration from universes created in titles such as Final Fantasy and Dark Souls. As players you are given a multitude of choices for continuing the story, or you could even choose to ignore it in favor of exploring the lore rich world of the Realms, though if the world changes into something unrecognizable and hostile, you may have none to blame but yourselves. As the creator I place value on the players' sense of freedom, and the ability to tackle situations in whichever way they feel best.   Rise of the Crowned is suitable for a more serious adventuring group who takes interest in the lore of the universe, and is open to all sorts of play styles.
