Liquid Potion, ActionEffect: Immediately removes mild and intermediate Sentecc-Poisoning (as in the Diseased status effect). If the creature intaking Akarthasia suffers from heavy or critical Sentecc-Poisoning, it additionally suffers 3 levels of Exhaustion up to 5th level 1 minute after taking the potion, and looses 20% of its Maximum Hit Points every hour for the next 24 hours. At the end of the 24 hour period, the creature is furthermore cured from heavy or critical Sentecc-Poisoning as well.
Potions exist in a sheer indescribable variety and have their specific places and fields of application in practically every civilization of both Almorea and Kaldesh. Their effects can range from - most commonly - healing properties as known in the crimson red Healing Potions, over potent stimulants and curatives, all towards body- and mind-morphing concotions that change ones very being. Most of them can be created by known and experted hands, though some particularly special recipes are lost to time; making the remaining few exorbitantly valuable.
Most of the New Havian public isn´t even aware that a concotion like Akarthasia exists; even less so that one could need it. Where the original recipes stem from is unknown, as it contains alchemic principles commonly employed by Veijranii, mixed with the influence of Teccran neccessity and New Havian adaptation. Regardless of origin, Akarthasia is one of the few means to cure the affliction known as "Sentecc-Poisoning" or "Sentecc-Crystalization".
After consumption, the patient´s body will attack and destroy the formations from within, combined with a solution process induced by Akarthasia which weakens the crystals´ structure. The process isn´t neccessarily painful, but may - depending on severity - potentially induce massive fever and temporary organ failure, if the crystallization has already spread systemically at the time of treatment. Patients have to be tended for with great care to survive this phase. A Valazzían- or Chrysalis-Doctor is greatly recommended for this process.
